I was very pleased to find a local van hire business that offered very competitive pricing. I hired a van over several weekends during the year and was very happy with the experience. Arrangements and instructions for picking up and returning the van were clear and straight forward and were flexible when needed. Overall the service was friendly and helpful on each occasion of hire and I would certainly return when I next needed to hire a van.

This is a fairly small operation on the outskirts of Abingdon. Chose them as close to where I was staying, and very competitive on price. Had been horrified how prices for an automatic compact were now typically £100+. Practical only now do manual cars, but got nice Honda civic for £45 a day. Is a diesel but would not have known from drive. Vehicle clean and drives well. Minor dents and scrapes pointed out by team member and logged. Can drop off keys at letterbox, and local buses stop nearby.

We've used them three times when moving home over the past few years. Every time they've been reasonably priced and reliable. The staff are friendly, and make the whole experience as convenient as possible. Would recommend them to anyone.

I was looking for a rental agency to hire a van from for a house clearance. Unfortunately most of the companies that I came across online did not hire vans to anyone below the age of 25, and I was 23. Feeling disappointed, I had nearly given up until I stumbled on Practical Car & Van Rental. I was happy to see that they hire vans to people aged 23 as mentioned in their Terms and Conditions. Initially I was going to hire from Didcot, however due to a lack of vans at their site they redirected me to the Practical agency in Abingdon. So i went online and made a booking and went in next day to pick it up. The process was very simple and relatively straightforward. At the counter i paid for the deposit and rental and signed a couple of documents, was in and out of the place within 10 mins or so. The employee that carried out my booking was very helpful and friendly which made the experience more pleasant. I was very happy to know that i was even allowed to leave my car overnight at their site as i was planning to hire the van for an entire day. Anyhow, I returned the van the next day on time , and after the employee that carried out my booking had finished inspecting the van, we headed back into reception and i was refunded my deposit. All in all a very faultless and brilliant service by Practical Car & Van Rental in Abingdon. Prices were fair and inexpensive. Thank you Practical for your excellent service! Looking forward to doing business again in the future.
