We are fortunate to find this Karate Club. All levels of people come here to learn. The teachers are very kind and helpful. They pay attention to individual kids who need extra guidance and support. Including me, here I have seen many parents joined lessons with their kids - like family activity.

Mr Hogan and his family have been training me in karate for the last 6 years and I have enjoyed every moment of it. Mr Hogan teaches in an encouraging and friendly way whilst continuing to challenge you physically and mentally. He is an excellent teacher, and I look forward to continuing in his class to black belt and beyond for many years to come.

I joined the club with my three daughters (aged from 5-11) about a year ago. I had achieved black belt at another club many years before, but had not trained for 15+ years. I was instantly impressed by the relaxed yet disciplined, fun and nurturing atmosphere that provides encouragement to children and adults alike, paired with the instructor's deep knowledge of Shotokan Karate and his teaching skills. Mr Hogan can keep a whole class engaged while helping each individual achieve their potential. Don't be fooled by the relaxed and friendly manner though- he can and will stretch even the most advanced black belt members both technically and physically!

The club has a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere and offers a superb place to learn karate. Both my son and I have been members for several years and are steadily working our way towards black belt, which would not be possible without the excellent teaching of Mr Hogan. I wholeheartedly recommend the club to anyone with an interest in martial arts.

I have trained at this club twice a week for the past seven years, progressing steadily from unpromising beginner to black belt thanks to the quality of instruction and training. The club offers a welcoming, inspirational, safe and non-discriminatory environment. Club members, male and female, range from pre-school to pensioner; gender or age are no barrier to participation and achievement. All benefit from the physical activity of karate which develops fitness, coordination, balance, and reflexes. More than that, the sport instils focus, concentration, discipline, appreciation of etiquette, and respect for others, creates a strong sense of achievement as effort and regular training are recognized and rewarded by regular promotion through the grades, and so improves self-confidence. During my time at the club many students have achieved black belt status, and this will surely continue. Thoroughly recommended.

My son and I have trained with TISKA in Abingdon for many years now, from complete beginners to Black Belt level. Fantastic support and teaching have been provided from day 1, I can not recommend TISKA and Mr Hogan highly enough. Oss
