We came here with the Abingdon Wine Circle at the beginning of January for the Annual Dinner. We were looked after very well. The food was superb and there was a lot of it. I had shrimps for starters, an enormous plate of turkey, ham and …

I despise when hotels advertise themselves as a grand C18th house and then they shove you in a 1990s, two-storey block around the back.
Due to a wedding we were unable to have dinner at the hotel also which was our plan - no communication prior to our stay that dinner would be unavailable.
Parking severely limited.
Overall a disappointing stay and would not return despite being a beautiful setting.
Breakfast was good although despite arriving on time for breakfast there was no hot water for tea, no fruit, no bread and no milk. It all arrived shortly after being asked but not ideal when needing to get on the road.

Fantastic Christmas Lunch with great hospitality as always.||Even in December the location alongside the River Thames is lovely and enjoyable drinks and then breakfast overlooking the garden and water.||This is the second year for Christmas lunch. Great value. Super portions and lovely taste.

Pros:
Great location with beautiful views from your hotel room. Friendly and helpful staff. Tasty breakfast and great service.
Cons:
Room was a bit dated. We feel like there is a room for improvement in regards to cleanliness. As per photos attached.

An absolutely gorgeous place on the river Thames. Room I used previously was "tired" but breakfast excellent. Had a family lunch there last weekend and everyone eating was very happy indeed. Superb wedding venue in my experience👍

Yes, the rooms are tired and in need of the impending refurbishment programme, but the two rooms that I booked were clean, warm and comfortable. The staff are welcoming, professional and make you feel like royalty! The breakfast was excellent. Very happy with our stay. We look forward to visiting again.

My room was so incredibly hot it was very hard to sleep. Even with the radiators off it was too hot! The towel rail in the bathroom can’t be turned off and was so hot you couldn’t touch it. The bathroom was like a sauna and it was hard to …

We had a very good stay here and a good price for two rooms. Very clean with beautiful views.
Breakfast was good with a wide choice, would have liked it if breakfast was available from 0730 on Saturday but 0800 was OK but left us with not a lot of time for our appointment, not the hotels issue but would gave made for an easier day. Nice place well placed in town for pubs and walks.
